JAVESCA FEEDS IN BURUNDI

Our goal in Burundi is simple. Everyone is fed.

Ongoing feeding efforts in Burundi:

HARVEST INITIATIVES, BUSIGA

Harvest Initiatives is focused on the most impoverished people in all of Africa – the Batwa tribes. Before Harvest began their work, dozens of people – children and adults – would die each year from starvation and disease.  Through our partnership with Harvest Initiatives, Javesca Feeds helps fuel an effort that provides each child in this village daily meals! Our Harvest Outreach partners purchase the food locally and bring the food to the community with hearts of love and grace.

Hundreds of school children and the elderly receive nutritious porridge each day for necessary growth, development and strength.  These children are staying in school and gaining an education, rather than spending their days hunting and begging for food. What a difference you make in helping to equip and empower them!

Javesca Feeds also works through Harvest to provide supplemental food to whole villages in times of drought and famine when food is scarce and starvation is acute.

GRACE CHURCH FAMILY EMPOWERMENT INITIATIVE

To help provide relief to families struggling with ongoing hunger, malnutrition and food insecurity, Javesca Feeds has partnered with Grace Church in an initiative that helps to empower growth and independence over time, while providing periodic, consistent assistance to over 80 individuals from 14 families near Bujumbura.

Grace Church uses funding from Javesca Feeds to acquire food locally, and provide two weeks of food every month for each family. This continues for six months as these families are trained in a trade or small business.  The food gives them livelihood until their small business is able to provide food for their families. After sustainability, a new 14-20 families enter the program.  Javesca Feeds is thrilled to be able to give support that provides hope and security and enables families to not only survive but to thrive!

JAVESCA FEEDS IN CHARLOTTE

Our goal in Charlotte is simple. Everyone is fed.

Ongoing Feeding Efforts in Charlotte:

JUSTICE MINISTRIES:

Justice Ministries aims to locate victims of sex trafficking and sexual exploitation, help them get out of their situation and into a safe place, facilitate an environment conducive to healing, and assist them in their transition to independence. Javesca Feeds is privileged to support through the provision of weekly groceries to those rescued out of human trafficking. Access to healthy food and nutritional well being gives the stability necessary for the growth of life skills, management and reduces vulnerability in returning to sex trafficking victimization.

CHARLOTTE DREAM CENTER:

The Dream Center’s work in the community provides over 70,000 meals to neighbors in need. 300 families are served weekly at “Adopt a Block” in JT Williams, Reid Park and Thomasboro neighborhoods.  To date, they have consistently given groceries to 36-45 families every two weeks – 1000-1170 sets of groceries per year.

Javesca Feeds was one of the first and ongoing partners to help support the essential food needs in these “Food Deserts” in the Charlotte region.

JAVESCA FEEDS IN GUATEMALA

Our goal in Burundi is simple. Everyone is fed.

Ongoing feeding efforts in Guatemala:

LA PROMESA SCHOOL AND CRISTO EL REY CHURCH

Javesca Feeds is pleased to support the ongoing feeding of children in a small school in Chimaltenango, Guatemala.  In partnership with La Promesa School and Cristo el Rey, a church in this impoverished town, Javesca Feeds has committed funding to ensure that the over 80 students and staff in this school will receive two nutritious meals every day.

Many of the families who live here struggle to provide resources to feed and care for their families. We encounter heartbreaking stories of children spending long days with little supervision and without food, while parents work to try to provide for them. The cycle of poverty is difficult to break, but La Promesa School is providing these children an education, food, love and hope and the open door to new opportunities never considered before.

In addition to La Promesa School, Javesca Feeds provides thousands of dollars annually for  food resources to hundreds of families in other villages like the pineapple farming community of  Jocotillo – where very few children are able to go to school and food insecurity is high.

JAVESCA FEEDS IN CAMBODIA

Our goal in Burundi is simple. Everyone is fed.

Ongoing feeding efforts in Cambodia:

LOVE WITHOUT BOUNDARIES – SOKEM BELIEVE IN ME SCHOOL

The Sokem Believe in Me School in Cambodia is supported by the Non-Profit “Love Without Boundaries”.  When the school began it quickly became apparent that hungry children had difficulties focusing and learning during the school day.  In addition, the students showed signs of Kwashiorkor, a severe protein malnutrition evidenced by physical stunting. The students’ need for nutritional support was obvious, hence the start of the hot lunch program.  All students receive breakfast and lunch. Some children are also supported  after school for a dinner meal.  There are about 178-200 children and 10 staff  who have meals at the school.  Javesca Feeds is privileged to serve as a food  partner in providing financial resources to provide daily meals for these children.
